Another survery... but this one's about just this year... I like this one a lot. Thanks to Anna J. for letting me steal it.
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? work at a thrift store, drive with a license, have a boyfriend for more than 7 months...
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I kept some of them, but I don't think I'll make any for next year other than to work on my book and movie and not worry so much.

4. Did anyone close to you die? yeah. a few people, actually.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? January 19 - sweet sixteen; April 28 - the start of something new; August 19 - the first day of hell; November 3 - the day I cried for hours over something trivial
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting an A overall in the first trimester of chemistry
9. What was your biggest failure? Falling away from God...

11. What was the best thing you bought? My dad's Christmas present... he's gonna love it!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? I can't really think of anyone whose behavior stood out as terriffic. We all had our ups and downs.

14. Where did most of your money go? Gas... music.... clothes...
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? My report cards (so far), my PSAT scores, getting my license, my first date w/ Thomas, not dying (several times), holidays and any breaks from school, and (although it's starting to look bad) Christmas break specifically.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004? Cannonball by Damien Rice or This Brilliant Dance by Dashboard Confessional... both these songs have captured my feelings for this year.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? I don't remember how happy/sad I was last year, but I'm pretty bummed right now.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Violin is hard. That and that Damien Rice is an awesome musician. Bashi Rose is right up there! ^_~
27. What did you want and get? a car... decent grades
28. What did you want and not get? *sigh* I'd rather not think about that. It might make me angry again.
29. What was your favorite film of this year? Nothing impressed me that much this year. I did like Hero a lot. And I liked Shrek 2.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I was out of school... but it was a federal holiday so the driver's license place was closed v.v and I'm 16, by the way.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Hmm... now this is a thinker... I'd have to say if I had gotten straight A's all the way through the year, gotten 99th percentile on the PSAT, and had gotten the advice I sought after so hard... but that last part could still happen. The year's not over yet.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? Well, this year has been mostly skirts, flip flops, beachy t-shirts for the warm months and concert t-shirts (with long sleeved shirts under them), jeans, and sneakers for the cold months. I discovered thrift store fashion this year, but somehow I still managed to blow a ton of money at the mall.
33. What kept you sane? HAHAHA. Sane. What a great word. Well, I can't really say anything kept me *sane*, but God kept me from dying. Seriously.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Uhh... the Pope? Wait, you're asking who I had a crush on I think... uh... Johnny Depp?
35. What political issue stirred you the most? Abortion, yo.
36. Who did you miss? My Thomasville buddies (who I didn't get to visit with much over the summer), my grandparents (ditto), Michelle (now that she's off in NY), and maybe even Fr. Labadie.
37. Who was the best new person you met? Uhh... Thomas? I dunno.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Just because you give up on God doesn't mean God gives up on you.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"This is one time that you can't fake it hard enough to please everyone/ Or anyone at all...or anyone at all/ And the grave that you refuse to leave/ The refuge that you've built to flee/The places that you've come to fear the most.../It's the place that you have come to fear the most." |
